I’m posting this in ps3 because thats what i play on. This applies to all console editions.
I know that people want a way to mod console edition minecraft.
Why not create a way to make a mod like a dlc? You’ll create it using an editor or like you would for pc edition but using console syntax (if that makes any sense) Then send it to an automated system to 4J or mojang or sony of whoever and show it as a free dlc for minecraft. It wouldn’t be illegal because its not modifing the game itself. It would work the same way other dlc’s add stuff like in dead island the dlc adds new weapons and locations. It’ll just add new weapons, ores, mobs, biomes, structures. Or 4J could get permission to create a console version of really popular mods like galacticraft, the lucky block mod, or the like. In the menu to create a world It’ll ad a «Mods» button under the texture packs and you could turn on each one individually for that world. That way you can have a world per mod.
Sounds good right?

Im on your side elvin, but this post will end up being locked. As ive said multiple times on different threads, mods are taboo for absolutely no reason. 4j gives us mods already. Theyre called texture packs. we pay for them, and they modfy the game. Its either laziness or lack of interest in giving the multitudes of players asking for this what they want. Noone is asking for mcedit, we’re just asking for them to expand on what theyre already doing.
But either way, this will get locked.

Since you were wondering here’s the deal with mods: Technically, a mod is anything made by a USER (Not the game developers) that changes gameplay. These kinds of mods are banned by Microsoft and Sony because they violate terms of use. However, 4j could release ‘modpacks’ as dlc (Meaning we could buy them), and make them availible for use in that way. In fact, from what I’ve heard, 4j already plans to release these. Otherwise, they take blocks or mobs from mods, and add them to an update as exclusive features. Unfortunately, 4j has also said that they plan to continue catching the consoles up to the pc first. Once we catch up, if we ever do, then 4j will ‘Skew off of the pc’ and add their own stuff.

If there’s any moderators that read this post. You should make it in the very rules of being on here that you shouldn’t be allowed to make threads of the topic of mods in any way since it’s impossible.
Just make it a pop up when you first create an account that you’re not allowed to make threads of this topic since it’s flooded the threads list by the thousands I’m sure by now.

I don’t know why it’s so difficult for people to think that.
I don’t want to say that every new person is an ignorant 9 year old.. But people above that age I’m assuming should understand by now that with all the terms of agreements they sign etc.. they would be able to understand a little bit of corporate policies.
By no means has it ever been a ‘new suggestion’. I’ve been on here over a year now. and.. it’s suggested like 4x a week. Judging by your current three posts at the moment. you wouldn’t have known that..
But trust me I’ve seen countless threads of this topic closed.
While it’s starting to go out of existence on the xbox section of this place. the PS3 section is unfortunately plagued with it.
